Samburu National Park
Samburu National Reserve is located in Northern Kenya and is a premier game reserve placed on the banks of the Ewaso Ng’iro River. The reserve is a unique wildlife conservation stronghold famous for an abundance of rare species, “the Special Five” such as the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx that are exclusively found in the Northern part of the country. The reserve is also home to a population of over 870 elephants and large predators such as the lion, leopard and cheetah. Wild dog sightings are also common to this unique protected area as well as abundance of bird species with over 450 recorded species. The reserve has lodges and luxury tented camps for guests to unwind and relax as they await their next safari. It is also accessible by air through daily scheduled flights departing Nairobi from Wilson Airport.
