Tarangire National Park – Northern Tanzania’s Hidden Gem
Tanzania’s sixth-largest national park, Tarangire spans 2,600 km² and offers one of the most serene safari experiences in the northern circuit. Often overlooked in favor of the Serengeti, it rewards visitors with exceptional wildlife viewing, dramatic landscapes, and far fewer crowds.
The park is famous for its massive elephant herds—sometimes over 300 strong—and an annual dry-season migration that draws more than 250,000 animals. Buffalo, lion, leopard, zebra, giraffe, and rare species like the long-necked gerenuk roam here, alongside over 500 bird species, making Tarangire a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts and birders alike.

Tarangire National Park Safari Experience
Its scenery is as captivating as its wildlife: golden savannahs, towering baobabs, granite ridges, river valleys, and lush swamps create a rich variety of habitats that support life year-round.
Located just a few hours from Arusha and south of Lake Manyara, Tarangire is easily accessible yet blissfully uncrowded. From July to October, it hosts one of Tanzania’s highest concentrations of mammals, offering an authentic safari with space, solitude, and stunning scenery.
