Thanks to the new expressway, guests can reach the hotel from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in just 15 minutes.

DAY 02

treetops lodge

Depart Nairobi after an early breakfast and journey north to Aberdare National Park, a scenic highland destination known for its cool climate, lush forests, and stunning waterfalls. Unlike the typical savannah, Aberdare offers a unique safari experience with sightings of elephants, black rhinos, leopards, hyenas, monkeys, and rich birdlife. Enjoy a game drive through the park’s forested Salient area before checking in at your lodge. The afternoon offers time to explore more of the park or simply relax and take in the tranquil surroundings.

We continue to check in at our lodge
Treetops Lodge
Treetops Lodge is steeped in history. In 1952, it became world-famous when Princess Elizabeth, while staying here, learned of her father’s passing—marking the moment she became Queen Elizabeth II. Nestled in the heart of nature, this iconic lodge offers more than just a historical connection; it’s a destination for unforgettable experiences.
Whether you’re here to relax in serene surroundings or venture into the wild, every stay at Treetops is designed to leave a lasting impression. Stay in touch with us for the latest updates and exclusive offers.

DAY 03

ashnil samburu camp

After an early breakfast, depart Aberdare National Park and begin your journey north to Samburu Game reserve.
Arrive at the reserve in time for lunch and check-in at Ashnil Samburu Camp.
ASHNIL SAMBURU CAMP is a luxury tented camp set against the dramatic backdrop of the mighty Ol Olokwe Mountain, overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River.
The camp features 19 exclusive tents, thoughtfully spaced along the shaded riverbanks beneath a canopy of doum palms. Each tent includes a private decked terrace with serene views of the river.
Guests can relax at the outdoor swimming pool, unwind in the lush garden, or enjoy a drink at the lounge bar—all with sweeping views of the African savannah.
The on-site restaurant also overlooks the river and offers a diverse menu featuring Oriental, traditional African, and international cuisines.
A variety of experiences can be arranged upon request, including game drives, guided nature walks, visits to a nearby Samburu village, and memorable bush experiences such as alfresco lunches, dinners, and sundowners.

This afternoon, embark on your first game drive in Samburu—home to some of Kenya’s most unique and rare wildlife species, found almost exclusively in the northern part of the country. Keep your eyes peeled for the Grevy’s zebra, distinguished by its narrow stripes; the Reticulated giraffe, known for its intricate geometric patterns; and the elusive Gerenuk, often seen standing on its hind legs to nibble on leaves high in the trees. You may also spot the striking Blue-necked Somali ostrich, along with a host of other fascinating creatures.
The reserve’s dramatic landscape—marked by rocky hills, dry scrubland, and riverine forest—is a haven not only for wildlife, but also for bird enthusiasts. The permanent waters of the Ewaso Nyiro River, lined with lush doum palms, attract an impressive variety of bird species year-round.
En route to Samburu, you’ll cross the Equator into the northern hemisphere, entering a semi-arid wilderness that offers a stark yet beautiful contrast to Kenya’s more temperate southern parks.
Between game drives, enjoy some time at leisure—perhaps a refreshing dip in the pool or a peaceful moment on your tent’s private deck. As the sun sets, relax to the gentle rhythm of the river and the quiet stirrings of the surrounding wilderness.

DAY 04

ashnil samburu camp

Your day begins with an early morning game drive, followed by another in the late afternoon—maximizing your chances of encountering Samburu’s exceptional wildlife.
Today’s safari takes you through a strikingly rugged and dramatic landscape, set against the majestic Ololokwe Table Mountain. The terrain is dry and sparsely vegetated, dotted with gaunt hills and twisted scrub trees. Occasional bursts of vibrant pink from the hardy desert rose provide vivid contrast against the muted earth tones—an absolute treat for photographers.
The Ewaso Nyiro River, a vital lifeline for the region, flows along the southern edge of the reserve, separating Samburu from its southern neighbor, Buffalo Springs Reserve. This permanent water source draws an abundance of wildlife: hippos and crocodiles bask along the muddy banks, while elephant herds wade into the river to cool off during the heat of the day, later returning to feed in the riverine forest.
Game viewing here is exceptional, with chances to spot the region’s famous Samburu Special Five—Reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and Gerenuk. In total, over 50 species of large mammals inhabit the area, including lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, buffalo, and various plains game.
Birdwatchers will also be delighted by large flocks of helmeted and vulturine guinea fowls, among many other species that thrive along the river and woodland.

DAY 05

sweetwaters serena camp

After an early breakfast, depart to the renowned Ol Pejeta Conservancy, located on the Laikipia Plateau near the foothills of Mount Kenya. The scenic drive takes you through lush farmlands, rolling hills, and panoramic views of the central highlands, with Mount Kenya’s majestic peaks often visible in the distance.
Arrive at Ol Pejeta in time for lunch and check-in at Sweetwaters Serena Camp.

SWEETWATERS SERENA CAMP
Embrace the awe-inspiring natural beauty of your surroundings, and set the stage for a visit you won’t soon forget. Located within the sprawling Ol Pejeta Conservancy, one of Kenya’s most noteworthy conservancies and home to the ‘Big Five’ (elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo and leopard), Sweetwaters Serena Camp offers a holiday experience unlike any other.

Framed by picturesque views of Mount Kenya, our sophisticated tented accommodation offers a tranquil respite in the wild, with ensuite bathrooms, free Wi-Fi and a private balcony or veranda. Begin or end your day with a delicious meal and superb views at our light-filled restaurant, enjoy a guided game drive on the conservancy, indulge in a massage in our treatment room or simply relax by the pool. With a dedicated event venue, modern facilities and exceptional planning services, our Ol Pejeta tented camp is one of central Kenya’s most stunning destinations for weddings and corporate retreats with a difference. And our unparalleled location in Ol Pejeta Conservancy facilitates exploration and discovery of the spectacular wildlife for which this region is famous.

After settling in, head out for an afternoon game drive in the conservancy. Spanning over 90,000 acres, Ol Pejeta is one of Kenya’s most successful private wildlife conservancies and is home to the Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and both black and white rhinos. It also boasts a wide range of rare and endangered species, including Grevy’s zebra, Jackson’s hartebeest, and the African wild dog.

Highlights of your visit include:
• The Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary — the only place in Kenya where you can see rescued chimpanzees.
• Excellent rhino viewing — Ol Pejeta is the best place in East Africa to see rhinos up close.
• Optional night game drive — for a chance to see nocturnal wildlife in action (available at an additional cost).
Enjoy the rest of your evening at leisure, with dinner served under the stars or in the comfort of your lodge — surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

DAY 06

sweetwaters serena camp

Start your day with an early breakfast before heading out on a morning game drive across the expansive plains of Ol Pejeta Conservancy, set against the striking backdrop of Mount Kenya. As one of Kenya’s premier wildlife destinations, Ol Pejeta is home to an impressive concentration of animals, including all of the Big Five — elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo, and leopard — as well as cheetah, giraffe, and abundant plains game.
After the morning drive, return to your lodge or camp for lunch and some time to relax. In the afternoon, venture out again for another game drive, exploring different areas of the conservancy and increasing your chances of spotting a variety of wildlife in action as the day cools.
During your visit, you’ll also have the opportunity to explore some of the conservancy’s unique conservation centers:

• Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only one of its kind in Kenya, where orphaned and rescued chimpanzees are rehabilitated in a natural, secure environment.
• The Endangered Species Enclosure, home to critically endangered animals including black rhinos, Grevy’s zebras, and Jackson’s hartebeest.

After an enriching day, return to your camp or lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds of the African bush.

DAY 07

lake naivasha sopa lodge

After breakfast, we depart toward Lake Naivasha, traveling along the scenic Great Rift Valley escarpment. En route, enjoy stunning views of the valley’s dramatic landscapes—volcanic cones, escarpments, and expansive plains stretching toward the horizon.
On arrival at Lake Naivasha, you’ll notice its tranquil beauty and abundant wildlife. Despite having no visible outflow, Naivasha’s waters remain fresh—a geological mystery, especially when compared to the surrounding Rift Valley lakes, which are typically alkaline. This unique feature allows Naivasha to support an incredible diversity of life.
As one of Kenya’s largest freshwater lakes, Lake Naivasha draws a wide variety of wildlife, particularly birdlife, making it a true bird watcher’s paradise. Over 400 species have been recorded here, including fish eagles, pelicans, kingfishers, herons, and the vibrant lilac-breasted roller.
Optional afternoon activities may include:
A boat ride on the lake to see hippos and waterbirds up close
A guided nature walk on Crescent Island, where you can walk among giraffes, zebras, and antelopes
Or simply relax and take in the peaceful atmosphere
Check in at your lodge in time for lunch or enjoy a packed picnic by the lake. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure or spent exploring, with dinner and overnight at your Naivasha lodge or camp.

LAKE NAIVASHA SOPA RESORT
Set along the tranquil Moi South Lake Road, Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort is a celebration of eco-conscious design and natural beauty. True to Sopa’s commitment to environmental stewardship, not a single tree was felled during the resort’s construction. Instead, the architecture was creatively adapted to the landscape, with the main public areas curving gracefully around ancient trees—blending harmoniously with the lush surroundings.
The resort offers a perfect balance of relaxation and adventure. Guests can enjoy a wide range of experiences including boat rides on the lake, guided nature walks, archery, romantic date nights, and tours of nearby flower farms. Whether you’re seeking a family getaway, a romantic escape, or a peaceful retreat into nature, Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort delivers eco-friendly luxury with a warm, welcoming touch.

DAY 08

saruni basecamp mara camp

After an early breakfast at the lodge, depart Lake Naivasha and head southwest toward the iconic Masai Mara Game Reserve. The journey takes you through the bustling town of Narok, a key Maasai center, and past the scenic landscapes of the Great Rift Valley, including views of the extinct volcanoes Mount Longonot and Mount Suswa.
As you travel deeper into the Maasai heartland, the terrain opens into vast savannahs teeming with life. Arrive at your camp in the Masai Mara in time for lunch and check-in.
In the afternoon, we embark on our first game viewing drive across the sweeping plains of this world-renowned reserve. The Maasai Mara is a breathtaking landscape of open savannahs, meandering rivers, seasonal marshes, and patches of riverine forest—all teeming with life.
Covering 650 square kilometers, the reserve boasts one of the highest densities of wildlife anywhere in Africa. During the Great Migration season, up to a million wildebeest and large herds of zebra make their dramatic entrance from the neighboring Serengeti in Tanzania, offering an unforgettable wildlife spectacle.
The Maasai Mara is home to all of Africa’s iconic “Big Five” — lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo — as well as a rich array of other species such as cheetah, jackal, eland, baboon, ostrich, and the elusive bat-eared fox. The Mara River and its tributaries are alive with crocodiles and pods of hippos, adding to the drama of the landscape.
With its remarkable biodiversity and ever-changing scenery, the Maasai Mara offers unparalleled opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography. Expect an awe-inspiring introduction to this wild and vibrant ecosystem.

SARUNI BASECAMP MARA CAMP
Saruni Basecamp Mara is a luxury eco-camp nestled in the heart of the Maasai Mara National Reserve, renowned not only for its comfort and beauty but also for its strong commitment to community and conservation. A favorite retreat of former U.S. President Barack Obama, this camp is celebrated as one of the top sustainable lodges in the Mara, blending high-end safari experiences with meaningful local impact.
Set along the banks of the Talek River and shaded by a lush forest canopy, the camp offers a peaceful, immersive setting. Each tent is positioned to provide privacy and stunning views of the surrounding wilderness, with birds and monkeys frequently seen just steps away. The natural vegetation ensures a sense of seclusion without obstructing the sweeping vistas of the reserve.
What sets Saruni Basecamp apart is its deep connection to the local Maasai community. The camp is managed and run by community members who are also landowners — directly benefiting from both tourism and conservation efforts. This unique partnership creates an authentic and enriching experience for guests, where cultural exchange and environmental stewardship are at the heart of every stay.
Saruni Basecamp Mara is more than just a place to stay — it’s a living example of how tourism can support people, protect nature, and create lasting positive change.
