Olderkesi Conservancy Safari Experience
The Olderkesi Conservancy lies on a crucially important pathway to the greater ecosystem and comprises a variety of habitats including grasslands, riverine valleys, forests, and woodlands. It’s a haven for many species of wildlife and a route for the great wildebeest migration. The conservancy is situated between Masai Mara National Reserve and Loita Hills along the southeastern border of the reserve. It also is home to one of the most elegant safari camps in the wild, Cottar’s 1920s Safari Camp and is also managed by Cottar’s Wildlife Trust that promotes conservation of wildlife for sustainable development.

The trust has been able to agree with the local community to withdraw from grazing their cattle inside the conservancy and instead give them monthly payments to reduce human wildlife conflict. The conservancy is exclusive to resident guests who are allowed to have day and night game drives among other activities. It is accessible by air from Nairobi through daily scheduled flights departing from Wilson Airport.
