Ramani Africa Escapes Ltd was born from an inner voice—a calling rooted in passion, destiny, and a love for nature.

The name Ramani means “map” in Swahili. In ancient times, maps guided explorers across seas, forests, and uncharted lands—opening up worlds previously unknown. In the same spirit, Ramani Africa Escapes serves as a map, guiding travelers to meaningful and authentic journeys across Kenya, Eastern Africa, and beyond.

We believe each of us carries an inner voice—a still, clear whisper of destiny that shapes who we are and where we are meant to go. For us, that voice called us back to the wild, to nature, and to the art of sharing Africa’s unmatched beauty with the world.

Our story begins with Winnie Wamucii, a first-generation Kenyan born in the remote areas of Kajiado. In the 1990s, she lived with her family inside Amboseli National Park, where her father worked as a teacher. Childhood was anything but ordinary—her playmates were elephants wandering in search of water during droughts, while spitting cobras, black mambas, and African pythons were regular visitors to the small compound they called home.
These encounters, sometimes thrilling and sometimes life-threatening, laid the foundation for a lifelong connection with nature. Though she first pursued medicine and served as a passionate medic for nearly a decade, Winnie’s inner voice never faded. Eventually, it guided her back to the wilderness—back to where it all began—and Ramani Africa Escapes were born.
